White Wild Indigo
Baptisia pendula

The White Wild Indigo is a long-lived perennial which is quite beautiful in flower. The pea-shaped flowers contrast strikingly against the charcoal stems. Current nomenclature places this plant in the group Baptisia alba. We use B. pendula since it describes the pendulous seed pods which are as handsome as the flowers.
