About every 6 months, a trail work day is held to spruce up the nature center’s grounds and take care of any trail issues. Activities during the trail work day include picking up garbage from the trails, removing any downed trees along trails, pulling, cutting and/or painting Chinese privet (to help eradicate this non-native, invasive plant from the property) and any other issues that need attending to. **Occasionally there will be an interested group wanting to help out and we will schedule a trail work day for them to assist with. MCNC volunteers are always invited to attend and help that group’s efforts.
